I really liked these gears of the abandoned sugar mill in the last evening light. While the "Portvale Sugar Factory" is still fully active, this part belongs to the old sugar mill and is now abandoned.

The old Portvale sugar mill in western Barbados was a museum until some years ago and is now abandoned.

Late in the evening we arrived at the Portvale Sugar Factory in the midwestern part of Barbados, which is not accessable and running in full operation from around February to June. But a nice guy let us in to make some shots at least from outside of the buildings. The highlight was a hidden part of the compound, where we dedected remains of the old sugar mill (see following images). It was a museum till some years ago, but is now abandoned.
