Glen Canyon Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam on the Colorado River in northern Arizona, near the town of Page. The 220 m high dam was built from 1956 to 1966 and forms Lake Powell, one of the largest man-made reservoirs in the with a capacity of 33 km³. The catchment area of Colorado river is 280590 km². The power house has eight Francis turbines, each has a cpower of 254000 hp. Lake Powell in the border area between Utah and Arizona is the Lake with the longest shoreline, unbelievable 3057 km.
