This part of the abandoned iron Works in Lower Austria, founded in 1823, is right above the channel for the use of water power. In the rear cabin there seems to be another interesting machine, but I didn't take the risk of the unstable ground ;-)

Besides the iron works, T. had his own little castle and chapel.

Another factory building of the same industrial tycoon, who owned the small abandoned iron works, which is shown in the images before. It is renewed outside, but now only used as storage.

This small but interesting iron works in Lower Austria has been founded in 1823 as part of an series of factories of an industrial magnate, abandoned since 1987. The former Weghammer is located in a small village which is part of the so called ‚Lower Austrian Iron Trail‘. It consists of two elongated, parallel arranged factory halls which are connected with a baroque like imposing front. The building that was used as a steel-mill, a gas pipe factory and a foundry has been put under a preservation order. Since its closure in 1987 the industrial building with its last used machines has been vacanted.
