We are completely different characters and often dispute about things. But we appreciate each other and have shared a lot of good times since decades. (Captured by my wife on top of the Bärenkopf (1.991m), situated southwards from Pertisau (Tyrol, Austria).) ~~~~~ Wir sind völlig verschiedene Charaktere und haben zu vielen Dingen auch ganz unterschiedliche Ansichten. Aber wir schätzen einander seit Jahrzehnten und haben schon viele gute Zeiten miteinander gehabt. At each of the nine (9) stopovers the runners get some stamp. Nobody can shorten the distance. An jeder der neun (9) Kontrollstationen gibt es einen Stempel, damit niemand abkürzen kann.

At this repast (Engalm) the runners may get soup. Im Tal, auf der Engalm, ist wieder eine Raststation. Hier gibt es gerade Suppe.

Those who are laughing here, are flirting with the photographer or keeping up until the final goal in Pertisau. Wer hier lacht, flirtet entweder mit dem Fotografen oder läuft durch bis zum letzten Ziel in Pertisau.

The runners have covered a distance of 35 kilometers so far, and mastered 1256 meters of altitude. Bis hierher haben die Läufer/innen 35 km zurückgelegt und dabei 1256 Höhenmeter überwunden.

The competition is not only for young. Der Wettbewerb ist nicht nur für junge Leute.

The last hundred meters before the "Engalm", which is the first goal. Those who want may drop out here. Those who didn't arrive here in between 8:30 hrs, must terminate, because it would be to late to continue the walk until Pertisau. ~~~~~ Die letzten hundert Meter vor dem Zwischenziel "Engalm". Wer will, kann hier aufhören. Wer nicht innerhalb von 8:30 Stunden eingetroffen ist, muss hier aufhören, weil es sonst zu spät würde für den Rest der Strecke bis Pertisau.
