(2 PiP's) An interesting detail: The railway drives here - coming from the Wipptal from Innsbruck - into this side valley, makes a big turn and drives out on the other side again in the direction of Italy. (2 PiP's) Ein interessantes Detail: Die Eisenbahn fährt hier - aus dem Wipptal von Innsbruck kommend - in dieses Nebental hinein, macht einen großen Bogen und fährt auf der anderen Seite wieder heraus Richtung Italien. My stress relief program today: A climbing tour through the via ferrata Peter-Kofler near St. Jodok /Tyrol, Austria). The picture shows the sculpture at the access. Last year she was moved a bit and given a bright yellow coat of paint. In the year 2025, when it will be finished, it will be the longest railway tunnel of the world: 64 km (from Tulfes to Franzesfeste). The tunnel shall unburden the Brenner Highway, which is passed by more than 2.000.000 trucks per year. Fast ein Drittel der Strecke verläuft über Brücken, wie die im Hintergrund gezeigte im Wipptal bei Gries, kurz vor der Grenze nach Südtirol. The via ferrata Stafflach Cliff runs directly above the railway line from Innsbruck to Verona. This line is 100% busy. Every 6 minutes a train rushes through. ~~~~~ Der Klettersteig Stafflacher Wand verläuft direkt oberhalb der Bahnstrecke von Innsbruck nach Verona. Diese Strecke ist zu 100% ausgelastet. The beginning of the via ferrata Stafflach Cliff in St. Jodok (Tyrol, Austria) has the character of an examination. This plaisir-ferrata is situated near the valley floor within a southerly orientated cliff. Therefore it's well appropriate for the first climbing tours of the season. A special feature is it's excellent accessibility by public transport: St. Jodok is situated directly at the railway route from Innsbruck to Verona. You don't need more than half an hour from Innsbruck (two and a half hours from Munic) to get there. From the railway station St. Jodok you have to walk only 20 minutes to the cliff. Eine Besonderheit ist seine hervorragende Erreichbarkeit mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln: St. Jodok liegt direkt an der ICE-Strecke Innsbruck/Verona. Der Ort ist nur ist nur eine halbe Fahrstunde von Innsbruck (zweieinhalb Fahrstunden von München Hbf.) entfernt. Bis zum Steig läuft man nur 20 Minuten.
