"With a wingspan of up to 2.9 metres, the Bearded Vulture is one of the largest flying birds in the world. It is the largest bird of prey in Europe, and with 225 to 250 breeding pairs one of the rarest." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bearded_vulture Unfortunately I only had my little Lumix with me that day. But the experience to see this big bird circling above us was unique. Aber das Erlebnis, diesen großen Vogel über uns kreisen zu erleben, war einzigartig. Fotografiert beim Abstieg vom Gipfel des Madrisella (Montafon, Österreich).

The last 2 of 430 climbing meters. Such a via ferrata as the Madrisella is also a psychological challenge for us because it is very airy. So it's good if you've already done some "altitude sickness addiction training" before (see below). ~~~~~ Die letzten 2 von 430 Klettermetern. Solch ein Klettersteig wie der Madrisella ist auch für uns eine psychische Herausforderung, weil er sehr luftig angelegt ist. From the other side you have to walk about 15 meters over a narrow ridge. On both sides it goes down vertically. Although one is roped up, but would fall nevertheless very painful . . . ~~~~~ Vom anderen Ende sind etwa 15 Meter über einen schmalen Grat zu gehen. An beiden Seiten geht es senkrecht runter. Zwar ist man angeseilt, aber zu fallen täte trotzdem sehr, sehr weh . . .

Das war mir trotz großer Routine doch eine Nummer zu heftig. ~~~~~

At the entrance to the fixed rope route Madrisella (Montafon, Austria). Prior to this, there is a one hour walk from the top station of the Versettla cable car (2,010 m) to here, which is quite shady. ~~~~~ Am Einstieg in den Madrisella-Klettersteig (Montafon, Österreich). Thanks to the blow-dry weather, the Alpine summits became snow-free again and passable shortly before winter. Dank des föhnigen Wetters wurden die Alpengipfel kurz vor dem Winter noch mal schneefrei und deshalb begehbar. The upper end of the fixed rope route Madrisella , which - very steep and breezy - leads 430 meters up to the summit of Madrisella . For us such difficult tours are absolute highlights, which we always put at the end of the season, when we get used to the exposition and have built up enough condition. (This ascent was the second attempt after we had to stop four weeks ago due to the weather). ~~~~~ Das obere Ende des Madrisella-Klettersteigs , der - sehr steil und luftig - 430 Meter hoch auf den Gipfel des Madrisella führt.
