Until the first snow, the Tyrolean cattle that graze on the high-altitude alpine pastures in summer are still on the pastures close to the valley for a short time. ~~~~~ Bis zum ersten Schnee sind die Tiroler Rinder, die im Sommer auf den hochgelegenen Almen grasen, noch für kurze Zeit auf den talnahen Weiden. ~~~~~

For a few months the cattle on the high alpine pastures have the purest paradise. But for us the herd was a serious problem. Because they had gathered exactly on the hiking trail, which in the picture leads from the bottom left to the top right. ~~~~~ Für einige Monate haben die Rinder auf den Hochalmen das reinste Paradies. Für uns stellte die Herde allerdings ein ernstes Problem dar. Denn sie hatte sich genau auf dem Wanderweg versammelt, der im Bild von links unten nach rechts oben führt. ~~~~~ Morgentlicher Aufstieg zum Glödis (3.206m), dem Matterhorn von Osttirol :

The lead animal is standing right on the hiking trail. It wouldn't be a good idea to get it excited. In an emergency, it'll be faster than we are. ~~~~~ Das Leittier steht genau auf dem Wanderweg. To avoid the herd we left the trail and crawled through the rough terrain next to it. This enabled us to take this rare shot of a calf with its mother, who was keeping it carefully. ~~~~~ Zur Umgehung der Herde haben wir den Wanderweg verlassen und sind durch das unwegsame Gelände daneben gekraxelt. Das ermöglichte diese seltene Aufnahme eines Kalbes mit seiner Mutter, die es wachsam behütete. ~~~~~ Morgentlicher Aufstieg zum Glödis (3.206m), dem Matterhorn von Osttirol :

The calf is just snuffling. It dosn't like alpine roses. Schon Kälber wissen, was ihren Mägen gut tut. Alpenrosen gehören definitiv nicht dazu:
