This large puddle with the melodious name Schlossbergsee (St. Johann in Tyrol, Austria) is only an artificial reservoir for snowmaking in winter. Because it lies at 1,080 m above sea level on the northern slope of the Kitzbüheler Horn , one can experience beautiful sunsets there, which is otherwise rather difficult in the mountains. (In the background on the right the Kaiser Mountains.) ~~~~~ Diese große Pfütze mit dem wohlklingenden Namen Schlossbergsee (St. Johann in Tirol, Österreich) ist nur ein künstlicher Speichersee für die Pistenbeschneiung im Winter. Weil er auf 1.080 m Seehöhe am Nordhang des Kitzbüheler Horns liegt, kann man dort allerdings wunderschöne Sonnenuntergänge erleben, was im Gebirge ansonsten eher schwierig ist. With an altitude of nearly 30 meters this summit cross is the highest accessible summit cross of the world. It's located in St. Jakob in Haus (Tyrol, Austria). Sunrise at Bavarian See (Bavaria, Germany). The sun was veiled by Sahara dust on that morning brought by the south wind. ~~~~~ Sonnenaufgang am Chiemsee (Bayern). Die Sonne war an jenem Morgen von Saharastaub verschleiert, den der Südwind heranbrachte.

I didn'd really investigate, whether the sandsturm, which masked the sun that morning, had been blastering over Zagora (Southern Morocco). But while capturing this sun rise over the Chiemsee (Bavaria, Germany) I remembered a desert tour on dromedars in South Morocco, where I experienced a sandstorm life. The last appeared 1977, i.e. 38 year in the past, or 509 cycles of the moon. The next X-mas Moon will be in 2034.) ~~~~~ Vollmond über Chieming (Chiemsee, Bayern) am ersten Weihnachtstag 2015. (Ein Weihnachtsvollmond ist sehr selten. Der letzte war 1977. Das ist 38 Jahre, bzw. 509 Mondzyklen her. Auf den nächsten muss man bis 2034 warten.)
