The Brenner Highway is the most important traffic artery between Germany and Italy. Almost one third of it runs via bridges as to be seen in the background of the picture. But more than 2.000.000 trucks per year cause high pollution in the Austrian alp valleys: "Beside, underneath and above the Brenner hightway the nature is ailing step by step. 140 metric tons of pollutants per kilometer are stressing the nature.
