The Kuchelmooskees (Zillertaler Alps, Tyrol, Austria), a south-facing glacier at about 3000 m altitude in the light of the rising sun. ~~~~~ Der Kuchelmooskees (Zillertaler Alpen, Tirol, Österreich), ein südseitiger Gletscher auf ca. 3000 m Höhe im Licht der aufgehenden Sonne.

An alpine ibex (Capra ibex, Capricorn) on the Sella plateau (approx. 2,900m, Dolomites, Italy). Because the habitat of these animals is very high, they are rarely seen. ~~~~~ Ein Alpensteinbock (Capra ibex) auf der Sella-Hochebene (ca. 2.900m, Dolomiten, Italien). The last "meters" of the Kaiser Mountains Crossing via Kopftörl : An antique iron ladder underneath the alpine hut Stripsenjochhaus (Tyrol, Austria). For a little moment I thought about all the other good possibilities to take pictures. But the very idea to get a cold beer at the hut didn't allow to waste time there. ~~~~~ Die letzten "Meter" am Ende der Kaiserüberquerung durch das Kopftörl : Eine alte Eisenleiter kurz unterhalb des Stripsenjochhauses (Tirol, Österreich). Allein das historische "Geländer" wäre eine eigene Fotosession wert gewesen. Aber der Gedanke an ein kühles Radler "in Griffweite" hat jegliches Verweilen an dieser Stelle unmöglich gemacht.

This plant begins to flower before the leaves are unfolded. Its botanical name is Cardamine enneaphyllos (frz.: cardamine à neuf folioles , ital.: dentaria a 9 foglie - does anybody know the english name?). It is rarely growing in the Tyrolese Limestone Alps. It's height is 20-30 cm. ~~~~~ Die Blätter haben sich noch nicht richtig entfaltet, da blüht der quirlblättrige Zahnwurz ( Cardamine enneaphyllos ) schon. Diesem wunderschönen Exemplar begnete ich gestern in den Buchenwäldern am südlichen Ufer des Hintersteiner Sees. ~~~~~ Captured with Marumi Achromat +3

As one of the earliest springtime flowers you'll find the anemone hepatica in Tyrol at sunny places. ~~~~~ An sonnigen Hängen findet man jetzt auch in Tirol schon Leberblümchen (aufgenommen im Makromodus der LX100, ohne Vorsatzlinse).
