After 50 years of operation, 2018 the old Raintal chairlift at Kitzbüheler Horn (Tyrol, Austria) was replaced by a gondola lift. For ecological reasons, it now only goes down to 1,450 m, because there is less need for artificial snowmaking on high slopes. ~~~~~ Nach 50 Betriebsjahren wurde der alte Raintal-Sessellift am Kitzbüheler Horn (Tirol, Österreich) 2018 durch eine Gondelbahn ersetzt. Aus ökologischen Gründen geht sie nur noch bis auf 1.450 m herunter, weil hochgelegene Pisten weniger künstlich beschneit werden müssen.

Reconstruction of the 50 years old ropeway from Eibsee (Bavaria, Germany) to the top of the Zugspitze - under continuing operation of the old ropeway . It's not only the highest, but also the most expensive construction site in Gemany. ~~~~~ Nach 50 Betriebsjahren wird die Seilbahn vom Eibsee hoch zur Zugspitze totalsaniert - bei laufendem Betrieb der bestehenden Seilbahn! Es ist wohl nicht nur die höchstgelegene, sondern auch die teueste Baustelle Deutschlands.

Blick von der Località Monte hinunter nach Mezzocorona /Kronmetz, Alto-Adige, Südtirol, Italien) und weiter nach Süden ins Etschtal.

Von Mezzocorona (Kronmetz) führt eine Mini-Seilbahn rund 500 m hoch zum kleinen Dörfchen Monte. Bei nur 7 Stehplätzen geht's in der Gondel recht eng zu. Landschaftlich reizvoller ist allerdings der Aufstieg durch die Via Ferrata Burrone Giovanelli. Die Seilbahn erspart einem dann den Abstieg über die sehr steile Fahrstraße.
