An OK but not brilliant image of Torres del Paine with weak sunlight. But perhaps the only shot on Flickr taken on Jan 1st 2000. I suppose if I were really keen I would have been here for dawn, but it was quite a long evening! Each of the towers is around 2500m altitude. Patagonia, Chile. A fine example of vernacular architecture in Puerto Natales. The buildings need to be able to endure the weather but the availability of raw materials is somewhat limited, leading to some quite interesting designs.

Patagonia is a wild land and often the people seem to reflect that. So this rather genteel doorway in Puerto Natales was one of a kind.
