Views of the Cordillera Huayhuash in the Peruvian Andes. Glorious mountains: snow-capped and with plenty of pointy bits.

Jirishanca 6126m at sunset, trekking around the Cordillera Huayhuash, Peru. If you look carefully the mountain seems to have a face and its eyelids are starting to look a little heavy.

Panoramic stitch from the Yaucha pass 4847m - absolutely fabulous views of the entire Cordillera Huayhuash and one of the finest mountain vistas I have ever witnessed.
Best seen at original size - if your monitor can fit it all in!

Sarapococha

View into the Quebrada Sarapococha from an unnamed pass at around 5020m on Cerro San Antonio. The central main peak is Sarapo 6127m and parts of Yerupaja (L) and Carnicero (R) either side.
Siula is hidden in cloud behind Sarapo but you can see it in this shot by Andy Cocker who seems to have been to the same viewpoint on a less cloudy day.
