Angel Glacier

The Angel Glacier 'flying' up Mt Edith Cavell in Jasper NP. This glacier is the source of the Fraser river and the cliff is 300m high (the glacier used to reach the bottom, but with climate change it is 'flying' ever faster upwards!).

These ice walls are around 60m high, extend for around 5km and advance at an average of 2m per day, but melt at the same rate. The very blue ice in the water had just 'calved' from the main glacier.
