Memorial for the fallen of both world wars

05 Nov 2009 2 3 963
Somebody cuts the sandstone plates free from ivy, so that visitors can read the names of the fallen. All around the cross you see in the picture right down,is big; maybe are there 20 records. Each full with names and data of dead burgher. Villages like Amelinghausen, Sottorf, Eitzen or Rehlingen have own dead person's lists in a well-ordered manner after death date. While in hamlets the fallen are honoured with name it goes up in bigger German cities mostly anonymously. There hardly ever a monument in Germany cover names of the persons them your life have lost. I have given up asking unknown Persons more: The wars are over long and so a lot is forgotten.
