Axes of Symmetry

There's an old joke about tree fellas, but I won't mention it. This was a chopped pine tree, cut just at the point where six evenly spaced branches had been growing outwards. I didn't realise they were natural until I looked closely. Serious forestry clearing in readiness for the planting of Brownie Wood by local girls Brownie group at Finlaystone Country Estate, near Langbank Scotland. Gorgeous woodland walks and great play areas for children. 1st March 2014. www.finlaystone.co.uk

Sinking sun king

An allegory as something golden and beautiful disappears from sight behind the horizon. This is the view across the river Clyde from the Saltings in Old Kilpatrick over to Erskine very close to the Erskine Bridge in Scotland 17th February 2013. Just like the sun going down, I seem powerless to prevent Flickr from ruining the pleasure I used to get from browsing that website. I can no longer scan the description that my friends have written, nor can you read mine. True, my attempts at humour might not always hit the mark, but I try to be informative, adding hyperlinks so you can learn about where I live, what I've been doing and what I've been fortunate to see. As I've already documented to no avail - I can no longer see the words below photos. If I was an infant and was only wanting to see the pretty pictures that would be one thing, but so much value is lost on this once great site if the additional educational content is hidden. Myself and so many other Flickr customers have been treated as idiots by the company we employed to provide the service we loved.

Platform 11a sunset Glasgow Central

05 Sep 2008 491
This is the 3rd scottish sunset of the year. Sunshine is in short supply this year though tonight was sunny and warm and the sunset was a fiery one with streams of gold and ochre blazing a trail in the sky. The lovely sprint down to platform 11a (the most ridiculous station platform ever) was worth it. 4th September 2008 8pm
