Woman on the Wishing Seat in the Children's Zoo at…

A Vintage Photos Theme Park contribution for the topic: Are you sitting comfortably? Chairs, seats, benches, anything to sit on .
I wish that this seat was still in existence--I'd sit in it to wish that this was a color photo rather than black and white. Although there's still a Children's Zoo that's part of the Bronx Zoo , the wishing seat is no longer there.
To see some color photos of this particular wishing seat along with examples of magical seating opportunities in other locations, check out the Wishing Seats gallery I created over on Flickr.
Home of 1000 Animals, Lake Placid, N.Y., 1969

"Home of 1000 Animals" was a tourist attraction that was part of the Sterling Alaska Fur and Game Farms, with locations in Lake Placid (as seen here) and Ausable Chasm, New York. According to the sign, there was "No Place on Earth Like This," and many tourists--like the ones here in the car pulling into the parking space--were undoubtedly trapped into stopping. Among the thousand animals inside were St. Nick's Animals , a Santa-themed section where visitors could feed goats, deer, and other animals.
This is one of a number of vacation photos I purchased recently (in 2013). For another example from this set, see Shivering at the North Pole, Santa's Village, Jefferson, N.H., 1969 .
Mother and Son at the Ueno Zoo, Tokyo

A zoo photo for the Vintage Photos Theme Park.
Handwritten note on the back of this undated photo: "Uano Zoo - Tokyo."
A fashionably dressed mother and her canteen-toting son pose impatiently in front of a fenced-in pond inhabited by ducks and other birds. Other zoo visitors (some holding umbrellas to protect against the sun) are visible in the background of the photo.
The Ueno Zoo (its name is actually "Ueno" with an "e" rather than "Uano" with an "a") opened in Tokyo in 1882 and is Japan's oldest zoo.
