Submarine Chaser

"U.S. of America Submarine Chaser."
A " submarine chase r" is "a small and fast naval vessel that is specifically intended for anti-submarine warfare," according to Wikipedia.
I'm not sure where this sub chaser was docked or when these two couples reported for duty aboard the ship, but perhaps they were chasing an F-6 submarine .

A photo of people exchanging "a look" that the photographer has captured perfectly for the Vintage Photos Theme Park.
Never mind that it's a fake look in a fake boat—the photographer who created this real photo postcard has captured a studio scene of a man and women looking into each other's eyes and pretending to be in love. I just hope that the swan got out of the way before it got caught in the wake of the speeding boat!

"Going Some! The Hum-dinger of Seattle."
Written on the back of this real photo postcard: "May 6, 1913 in Seattle, Wash. To Bro. John"
A studio photo depicting what appears to be alcohol-fueled nautical maneuvering in the vicinity of Seattle, Washington.
Judging by a similar Hum-dinger photograph that's part of the Seattle Photograph Collection at the University of Washington Libraries, this photo came from the Joy Parlor Studio, which billed itself as "the home of the cowboy post cards" and was located at 207 2nd South in Seattle.
For an uncropped copy of the photo postcard, see Going Some with the Humdinger of Seattle! (Full Version) .

A Vintage Photos Theme Park photo for the theme of grandma and/or grandpa with the grandchildren / sitting on grandpa or grandma's lap .
A real photo postcard showing a baby and two men--looks like the kid's father and grandfather--posing on a studio mockup of the City of Toledo , which was a steamship that plied the waters of Lake Erie between Toledo and Put-in-Bay, Ohio, beginning in the 1890s.

Daddy on the Deck of the F-6 Submarine
19 Jun 2016 |
|
|
|
A real photo postcard showing "Daddy" (handwritten in the upper left-hand corner) posing on the deck of an "F-6" submarine. Although the postcard is heavily soiled and some details of the painted scene in the background are difficult to make out, it appears that there are two or three ships floating (or sinking?) in the heavy waves behind the sub, while smoke billows from the smokestacks of a ship that's visible on the horizon at left. Meanwhile, two or three biplanes and an airship are visible in the sky above.
The "F-6" hull number on the submarine is puzzling, but perhaps it's intended to refer to the U.S. Navy's submarine no. 6, the USS Pike , which saw service between 1903 and 1922. For more information, see the Navy Historical Center's page regarding USS Pike (Submarine # 6, later SS-6), 1903-1922 and Wikipedia's article on USS Pike (SS-6) .
