Seventies Sleeper Sofa

14 Oct 2024 3 1 154
A Vintage Photos Theme Park photo for the theme of grabbing some z’s (sleeping somewhere other than a bed or cot) . A 1970s sleeper on a sofa. The same woman appears in another photo wearing a dress with bell sleeves instead of the patchwork pants (is that what they're called?) we see here. The same wallpaper pattern is visible in both photos.

Smiling Mother with Wide-Eyed Baby

11 May 2020 3 1 453
A mothers and babies photo for the Vintage Photos Theme Park. A fashionably dressed mother with a gentle smile poses for a picture as she holds her baby, who's staring in wide-eyed astonishment at something off camera. This is an undated real photo postcard from Paris, France (based on a partial address— Ave. de Neuilly —stamped on the other side). See also the full version of this photo.

Woman in Fur Coat

17 Mar 2019 2 5 663
A Vintage Photos Theme Park photo for the theme of all dressed up and nowhere to go (fashionably dressed women and men) . A real photo postcard of a woman in a long fur coat who's standing in front of a painted backdrop. The AZO stamp box on the back of the photo suggests a possible date as early as 1922 to 1926, but "4-47" appears as part of the notation at the bottom of the image (it's difficult to read because the writing is upside down and backwards). Could this date to the 1940s rather than the 1920s?

Mother and Son at the Ueno Zoo, Tokyo

17 Mar 2014 1 1604
A zoo photo for the Vintage Photos Theme Park. Handwritten note on the back of this undated photo: "Uano Zoo - Tokyo." A fashionably dressed mother and her canteen-toting son pose impatiently in front of a fenced-in pond inhabited by ducks and other birds. Other zoo visitors (some holding umbrellas to protect against the sun) are visible in the background of the photo. The Ueno Zoo (its name is actually "Ueno" with an "e" rather than "Uano" with an "a") opened in Tokyo in 1882 and is Japan's oldest zoo.
