Necrodes littoralis, a Sexton or Burying Beetle seen in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, August 2017. This is only the second time this species has been recorded in Shropshire.

Nicrophorus vespillo, the Common Burying Beetle, seen in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, July 2017. Notice also the tiny mite that is attached to the beetle just below its eye. The mite is just hitching a ride on the larger beetle and causes no real harm .
