Exclusive of Corvo Island, it comes with a wooden key to insert in a slot, thus opening the door. This one was spotted between Canada do Graciosa and Maranhão Square, at Vila Nova do Corvo, Azores.

Ingenious lock developped by the people of Corvo Island in the old times when raw materials and other resources were scarce. Such locks still can be found and miniatures can be bought as souvenirs. This one is applied to a windmill door, at Vila Nova do Corvo, Azores.
