Clams usually don't thrive in volcanic islands, but these proceed from a lagoon, open to sea water, at Fajã do Santo Cristo, São Jorge, Azores, only accessible by boat, by motorcycle or by quad. This lunch was served at "Fornos de Lava", a restaurant at Santo Amaro, uphill in western São Jorge.
