On the left bank of River Mondego, Coimbra. The frequent floods of River Mondego brought about damages and an increasing decay of the convent, abandoned in 1677. The nuns moved to the New Saint Claire Convent, built in the 17th century. After the restoration of this medieval church, it was closed to visitors for a while, owing to floods in the 21st century.

At Paço das Escolas, Coimbra. It's part of Coimbra University and UNESCO heritage since 2013. Its 16th century Manueline architecture, visible outside, conceals a Baroque interior, with 17th century tiles and 18th century ceiling painting, gilded wood and organ.

Both stand at Paço das Escolas, Coimbra. This university, as an institution, dates back to 1290. Initially it was established in Lisbon, until 1308; then moved to Coimbra, until 1338; then moved back to Lisbon, until 1354; then moved back to Coimbra, until 1377; then moved back to Lisbon, until 1537; then moved back to Coimbra, for good, putting an end to the geographic seesaw. It's UNESCO heritage since 2013.
