River Tagus, Cacilhas lighthouse, full moon and a cruise ship departing from Lisbon. This is a view from Cacilhas (Almada riverside). The 1886 lighthouse is no longer active. In 1978 it became needless and in 1983 it was taken and reassembled at Serreta Point (Terceira Island, Azores). It served between 1986 and 2004, when it was replaced by automatic light. Claimed as Almada heritage, it returned to Cacilhas and was reinstalled in 2009 a few dozen metres from its primitive location. HFW!

It has a more recent lighthouse installed inside. The fortress is strategically located near the mouth of River Mondego into the Atlantic, at Figueira da Foz. HFW!
