It stands in the middle of a roundabout on the highest point of continental Portugal. Curiously it is accessible by car, unlike many lower mountains. The highest point of Portugal is located at Pico (a 2,351 metres high peak), at Pico Island, Azores.

Seen from the leaning tower (belfry), after the ascent of 217 stair steps. It's on the floor at the level of the entrance that you feel a slope under your feet - if you rotate your body, your knees must constantly adapt. On the stairs and on the top you don't feel the leaning of the building.
