At José Maria dos Santos Square, Pinhal Novo. It reminds the origin of this town, a settlement that developed on account of the railway. Pinhal Novo is a civil parish of the large Palmela council and many of its inhabitants use daily the railway to Barreiro and then the ferry to Lisbon, to get to work.
