Another of the several cloisters of Tomar's Christ Convent, UNESCO heritage since 1983. It was called "Micha" because it was from there that the monks distributed loaves of bread ("miches" in French) to the poorest people.

In the cold season it had firewood burning and monks went there to get warm. There are ducts in the walls to convey hot air to the cells. This room is located in the great dormitory of Tomar's Christ Convent, UNESCO heritage since 1983.

This part of Tomar's Christ Convent was started in 1533. However, King John III decided to suspend the works and it was never achieved. It looks like a ruin but what is missing was never done.

I could behold this masterpiece of Manueline style in 1989. This year, it was being restored, and the best it could be seen was this image on canvas. This part of Tomar's Christ Convent (UNESCO heritage since 1983) can be seen from Saint Barbara Cloister.

It's part of Tomar's Christ Convent, UNESCO heritage since 1983. I saw it for the first time - on my previous visit, in 1989, it was closed for restoration.

This is one of the few parts of the Christ Convent of Tomar which is medieval and had no significant improvements thenceforth. The whole convent became UNESCO heritage in 1983.
