Notation: It was the team from Winnipeg that won the Senior Eight-Oared Shell race at the 40th Anniversary Regatta of the National Association of Amateur Oarsmen (N.A.A.O.) in August of 1912, held in Peoria, IL. Notation: For many years, Winnipeg rowers were well-regarded in major competitions. In 1910, a crew from Winnipeg became the first amateur Canadians to win the Stewards Cup at the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta in England.
In this image, this Winnipeg Team captured first-place honours at the 40th Anniversary Regatta of the National Association of Amateur Oarsmen in August of 1912, held in Peoria, IL.
This team won the 1 1/4 mile Senior Four Oared Shell race. Another Winnipeg Rowing Club team won the Senior Eight-Oared Shell race.
