POSTCARD
Date: Not evident. Not Posted.
Publisher / Photographer: T. C. McQuarrie, Minnedosa, #T.C.M. 3143.
Notation: An odd message on the reverse; "My dearest Katie, Just a P.C. [postcard] to let you know that I am staying with Alice just now but, I am going out on a farm tomorrow wednesday as I am not feeling at all well, so I am going out for a week or two to see if it will do me any good, as my system has been properly run down and my nerves are completely shattered. I trust the change may do me good at present, I don't exactly know what I am doing. I trust this will find you well. From Johnnie."
MN1018 SHOAL LAKE - (ELEVATORS & STATION)

POSTCARD
Date: Posted November 28, 1904 from Shoal Lake to Mr. E. A. Cress in Minden City, Michigan.
Publisher / Photographer: Unidentified
Notation: Postcard is on "Classic" early Velox undivided back Private Post Card stock.
As best as I can make it out, note on front reads:
"Shoal Lake, Man Nov 27/4 Dear E.S. - Papers to bond(?), OK. Have Roosefelt on the wall in the office. Busy as a sailor these days. Hope you are having a good trade this Fall.
This shows part of the elevator capacity here. Storage capacity of 165,000 bu (bushels). Also shows our home. Why don't you answer our letters. Bert"
The station house is on the right. Given the nature and content of the note, I am assuming that Bert may have been the station master and that he (and his family?) may have resided in the station itself.
The two identified elevators are Scott's Elevator and Northern Elevator Co. Ltd.
