On this morning the sun was rising behind a cloud bank. For a few moments the sun produced a range of colours in the sky, from pastels to an intense orange.

When the sun rose above the clouds along the horizon to colours in the sky softened, with more pastels appearing.

Morning light on the gravel caught my eye. This is not really a road, but a trail used by the farmer to move heavy equipment, as evidenced by the large tire tracks. This soil is called gumbo, which means don not attempt to drive this when it is wet!

For some reason the farmer working this land has chosen to leave this small group of trees, seeding and harvesting around it. Whatever the reason, it leaves a pleasant green island in the surrounding bright yellow canola crop. Don’t use this image on websites, blogs or other media without explicit permission.
