A gap in a fence, with the hint of a trail, perhaps used occasionally by a tractor and hay wagon. A ranch house and outbuildings are nestled in the valley, with the south end of the Cypress Hills in the distance.

The Benedictine monastery at Muenster, Saskatchewan, includes a farm that helps feed the community. As I hiked around the farm I had this charming encounter.
