a carrot? and a stick
25 Oct 2024 |
|
At first I thought there was a carrot and a stick resting on top of this log across Swift Current Creek, but the orange object is a pine cone glowing in the sunlight.
season changes

|
A warmer-than-usual September means some of the leaves in Pine Cree Regional Park have changed colour, while others remain green for a while longer.

A low-angle view of the rail line that runs through the Frenchman River Valley west of Eastend, Saskatchewan. My thanks to writer W. O. Mitchell for the photo title.
one golden patch
24 Oct 2024 |

One shaft of sunlight penetrates through the forest canopy of Pine Cree Regional Park to light up the waters of Swift Current Creek. I took this in late September.

reflecting pool

A pool on Swift Current Creek, with light filtering through the tree canopy. I thought the light on the stones and the water made a rough triangle.

An elevator and caboose located by a railway siding at the south end of Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan. Both offer a look into the early history of the town, but could use some TLC.

a lonely road

A gravel road in southwest Saskatchewan, in the rolling hill country at the south end of the Cypress Hills. A photographer can set up in the middle of a road like this knowing that it's unlikely another vehicle will come along to force you to move.
