Pinto eye

When this horse came close to the fence to check me out I noticed that its eye was an odd colour. I have subsequently learned that this condition is common in pintos.

an odd eye

23 Feb 2022 4 6 64
When this horse came over to the fence for a closer look at me I noticed that it had odd-looking eyes. I don't know if it is a genetic condition or some kind of health problem, but it is noticeable.

steel in stubble 2

24 Dec 2021 2 57
A large grain bin that likely contains the crop harvested a few months earlier. When this image was taken in late November only a small amount of snow had accumulated. More snow will be needed to get the next crop off to a good start.

snow sculpture and bin

20 Dec 2021 3 59
The Prairie wind scours snow from the surface of the earth in some places, only to sculpt it into curves and folds in other places. Not much snow was available in this late November image, but enough to create this sculpture on a stubble field.

pink plastic flower, Vernon

A graveyard and fieldstone church tucked into the corner of a farmer's field in an area known as Vernon. The church is used occasionally during the summer, and is slowly decaying. A plastic flower adorns one of the graves. Taken in the afternoon on a day in late November.

Pickup trucks perform a variety of tasks on the farm. When they are retired some of them serve as target practice, as this windshield attests.
