The light from the rising sun makes the dew on the plants and barbed wire sparkle. Taken on a September morning with the temperature at 2C, and very humid conditions in the Qu'Appelle Valley.

Fod had settled in the Qu'Appelle Valley overnight, when the temperature fell to 2C. After sunrise, the fog hung in the valley, with the south rim of the valley just visible. It took about two hours for the warming sun to burn off the fog.

A decaying barn near Lumsden, Saskatchewan, that is likely to be torn down soon. It has an impressive fieldstone foundation which must have required a tremendous effort to build.

Fog had settled in the Qu'Appelle Valley overnight, as the temperature dropped to 2C. The south rim of the valley is visible in the distance. The valley was a glacial meltway about 12,000 years ago, and the bottom land is very fertile. The present-day Qu'Appelle River meanders through the bottom land.

This fellow was one of three curious horses that came over to the fence as soon as I headed toward them. After checking me out, and was satisfied that I was friendly, this one stepped back to pose. Later, he/she was happy to feed on grasses that I pulled from the ditch.

A road called Seven Bridges Road winds through the Qu'Appelle Valley near Lumsden, Saskatchewan. Eventually the road rises out of the Valley as you travel toward the west. This view is near the crest of the hill, looking back to the east.

A cool, windless morning in the Qu'Appelle Valley, as the trees begin to change colour. A heavy fog had settled in the valley overnight, and only slowly burned off after the sun rose.

It was a foggy morning, about 2 degrees C in the Qu'Appelle Valley, with no wind. There was so much moisture in the air that water droplets formed on everything. I tried this close up of droplets on barbed wire and cobwebs.
