I had driven out of the city in the hope of capturing some images of the Aurora Borealis, but a band of wildfire smoke has rolled in, eliminating that possibility. On a side road I saw the sheds and granaries silhoutted against a muted evening sky, about a half-hour before sunset.

A cloud arch deflects the sun's rays near the end of a hot day in early August, looking west from Regina, Saskatchewan.

Looking west on a warm evening, with a thunderstorm warning in effect. The storm did not materialize at this location, but the sun and the clouds put on a show.

Pronghorn antelope are usually cautious and skittish, which means they don't hang around when a photographer stops nearby. These two decided not to pose for the photographer.
