Qu'Appelle autumn meanders

|
A snapshot of the Qu'Appelle River winding through the valley of the same name, on an autumn morning. The river is typically low at this time of year, unless there have been recent heavy rains. The high water mark along the banks is usually set by the high volume of spring run-off.

A view of the Qu'Appelle Valley and the river of the same name, as seen on an October morning from a Nature Conservancy property called, appropriately, Valley View. By this time of year the harvest is mostly over and the land is preparing for the winter conditions to come.

I find these concrete arch bridges very attractive, and a challenge to photograph. This single-arch bridge was once part of Highway 6, spanning the Qu'Appelle River.
