Fod had settled in the Qu'Appelle Valley overnight, when the temperature fell to 2C. After sunrise, the fog hung in the valley, with the south rim of the valley just visible. It took about two hours for the warming sun to burn off the fog.

An abandoned house beside the Qu'Appelle River, in the valley of the same name. Even though Lumsden and Craven are close by, and there are houses and farm buildings on both sides of the valley, this house has a lonely and isolated look to it.
