A plant and its protective cover backlit by the morning sun, in a community garden near my home. The cover helps protect the young plant from cooler temperatures overnight, allowing it to grow without risk of damage.

A close-up look at hoar frost that accumulated overnight on tree branches close to where I live. When the conditions are right - ground fog overnight and very little wind - the frost makes a coating over everything.

This was a grab shot taken at a Nature Conservancy property in southern Saskatchewan. A longer lens might have produced a better image. I cropped this image aggressively to eliminate a lot of empty space. I'm not sure what bird this is. Suggestions welcomed.
