Every time I visit Mankota I'm drawn to this hydrant, which had had many coats of paint over the years. A man who lives next door told me the building behind used to be a fire hall. I went back to take pictures of this hydrant at Mankota, and again it seems to benefit from desaturation of the already faded colours. While I was shooting the man next door came out to tell me the building used to be the fire hall, with the jail out the back. The jail must be gone, replaced by an RV stored there.
