Hoof prints of what I think are pronghorn antelope in the Great Sand Hills. They might be deer prints, but I think it more likely that they are pronghorn antelope, which are relatively common in the sand hills.

This pronghorn antelope had moved from the ditch into the field beside it when the photographer rolled up. The antelope is well adapted to almost disappear in this habitat.

After a few moments of watching the photographer the leader of this group decided it was time to flee. Most of the antelope followed quickly, but there were a couple of laggards.

This group of pronghorn antelope had gathered to graze in a field beside Highway 21, south of Leader, Saskatchewan. Some show concern about the photographer standing beside the highway.

Light snow had fallen on this mid-April morning, as a pronghorn antelope stood awkwardly to assess whether the photographer was a threat. This image was taken at the edge of the Great Sand Hills in Saskatchewan.
