Another perspective on an unusual growth on a tree beside a parking lot in Regina, Saskatchewan. At first the growth looked to me to be a bison head, which would be appropriate, since the bison head is one of the symbols of the City of Regina.

When I first saw this tree the growth on its side reminded me of a bison head. While editing the image I became less sure of what it looks like, although the colours and the textures continued to fascinate me. The unusual growth must have occurred after a large limb fell off the tree, or was removed.

Regina has a few hills, of which this one in Douglas Park is an example. It is a great place to watch the sun come up of go down, and it also serves as a good backdrop from across Wascana Lake. This image was taken on September 30, 2022.
