frost crystals sprinkle

07 Feb 2021 1 2 73
When ice fog settles overnight, rime frost forms on everything, creating a wonderful sparkly coating. As the sun rises and winds pick up the crystals begin to float away from objects such as tree limbs. Sometimes you can hear the crystals, which I suppose I could capture with video. I took this standing in the comfort of my back door.

hosta blossom

The hosta plants in my backyard happy fill all the space given to them, and more. Every year I dig up a couple of plants to give away or supplement another garden, but they quickly fill the empty space. About mid-July the plants open their delicate flowers, which are such a contrast to the big, showy leaves. Don’t use this image on websites, blogs or other media without explicit permission. I don't know the name of this plant, but every year it produces lovely, delicate flowers that grace my garden for a few weeks. Don’t use this image on websites, blogs or other media without explicit permission. Copyright William Armstrong. 2020

daisy

I took this image of a daisy in my backyard, some weeks after I had planted it in a small strip of earth by a fence. I was delighted to see it thrive. Don’t use this image on websites, blogs or other media without explicit permission. Copyright William Armstrong. 2020
