I look forward to the lilies that bloom in my back garden. They look and smell wonderful, and provide for a convenient exercise in macro photography. They are a welcome sight on a -26 degree morning.

This lily grows in a nearby garden. I came early in the morning to see what it looked like in the early light. I took plenty of photos, because by mid-August, these flowers will soon disappear.

These lilies with the unusual colours grow in two raised boxes behind a neighbour's fence. She is away from home regularly, so I water them to ensure they flourish. These lilies are one of the things I look forward to enjoying every summer. What the photo cannot convey is the wonderful aroma they give off.

A tiger lily in my backyard reminds me of the Mobius strip, a concept developed by two mathematicians, including one named Mobius. I think the lily had this figured out long before the math experts found the formula.

The morning light on this lily was gorgeous, as was the flower itself. I tried to capture that, and while I didn't nail the focus as I'd hoped, I'll take this.
