A gravel road in southwest Saskatchewan, in the rolling hill country at the south end of the Cypress Hills. A photographer can set up in the middle of a road like this knowing that it's unlikely another vehicle will come along to force you to move.

This church sits on a fenced-off area of what is likely a farmer's quarter section of land, in southwest Saskatchewan, near the border with Montana. I decided to try converting the image to (almost) black and white, since the weathered building and the sky seemed to suggest the mood of loneliness and abandonment.
