chrome and red

A headlight and some other chrome bits of a restored late 1950s Chevrolet, if I recall correctly. The chrome shade over the headlight was a popular, and relatively cheap, aftermarket add-on at that time.

A restored vintage Chevrolet with plenty of chrome in and around the grille.

Buick portholes

Non-functional chrome portholes along the fender line of a car was an easy giveaway that it was a Buick, back in the day. The aqua green and cream paint scheme was also common during the 1950s and 60s.

DeSoto chrome

A nice restoration of an upscale car brand that no longer exists.

teardrop headlight

The headlight of a restored 1940 Ford, set against a look-t-me-yellow paint job. I should have hatted with the owner about the Model 85 badge mounted on the grille. A bit of research on the internet revealed that Ford built a few different models in that era, and there is a lively online trade in original and replica badges.

'40 Ford Grille

A portion of the grille of a 1940 Ford. I took this image at a show n shine, where several car restorers had their cars on display. You can selections of the cars on either side in the reflections on the hood.

Pontiac trunk

I like car shows that feature restored vintage cars, like this Pontiac sedan from the late 1950s (I think). There is always an abundance of chrome on these older vehicles. I also prefer the outdoor shows, because the light is usually better for photography.
