I took a walk around a local park, and while everything was covered in frost, there was too much background clutter in images of the trees and bushes. A close-up of some branches and a single leaf did illustrate how much frost had accumulated overnight.

I placed my "adopted" leaf against some large rocks located at the corner of the property where I live. The rocks look very different, but both would have been scraped up by glaciers many thousands of years ago, and then deposited by meltwater, and then more recently scooped up by a landscaper.

Another leaf "adopted" and placed against a contrasting setting; this time where a tree limb had either fallen off the main trunk, or had been removed. This was also another opportunity to use my macro lens.

I took this leaf which had caught my attention while I was getting into my car around the condo property where I live. I placed it on a concrete bench. This was another exercise in using my 90mm macro lens.

This leaf caught my eye in a parking lot as I was about to get into my car. I picked it up and brought it home. I put the 90mm macro lens on my camera, and took the leaf to various locations near where I live. This is the first in a series of images featuring the leaf.

In January we had about two weeks of overcast and relatively mild weather, creating accumulations of frost on everything. Once the sun came out I photographed some of the frost, before it melted or blew away.
