As the fog began to burn away on a July morning there were a few moments when the sky in the east displayed a range of colours, from intense orange to play yellow.

A view of the southern edge of the Cypress Hills near Ravenscrag, Saskatchewan, with sedimentary layers left behind by retreating glaciers clearly visible.

Looking south over harvested fields a swath of bright green vegetation caught my attention. I tried to capture the layers of colours and textures in the fields, the vegetation and in the clouds. Highway 21 south of Leader, Saskatchewan, is at the left side of the image.
