dry leaves 1

18 Feb 2024 1 63
In Fall the leaves fall in random patterns created by gravity and the wind. As an exercise in macro photography I took some images in my garden of leaves from nearby trees, mixed with the lighter-coloured hosta leaves. The combinations of browns and beiges with the different shapes makes for an interesting study, successful or not.

two bales

My intuition tells me that a composition with three bales would be more appealing, but the farmer doing the haying had only collected enough for two. I saw this while exploring the Qu'Appelle Valley on a Saturday morning.

fall colours in the Valley

A road called Seven Bridges Road winds through the Qu'Appelle Valley near Lumsden, Saskatchewan. Eventually the road rises out of the Valley as you travel toward the west. This view is near the crest of the hill, looking back to the east. Don’t use this image on websites, blogs or other media without explicit permission. Copyright William Armstrong. 2020
