Wind action creates ripples and sculpted lines on active dunes in the Great Sand Hills. The area also has patches of vegetation that manage to survive.

What was once a tree engulfed by a shirting sand dune in the Great Sand Hills.

The mature trees surrounding this country cemetery indicate that it has been there for a long time. I found it to be a peaceful spot, and tried to convey that through this image.

I thought this image would look good in black and white, and I think it does. Then I started experimenting with the yellow, green and blue sliders, which made for some interesting effects to say the least. Using the sliders opens the possibility for an almost infinite number of interpretations, so this is one snapshot.
