sunrise at Wascana Creek

A view of a portion of Wascana Creek where it meanders through Regina, around sunrise on an October morning. The leaves on the trees are turning colour at this time of year, and October also allows the photographer to sleep in a bit and still catch the sunrise.

Cultivation takes place right to the edge of the Qu'Appelle Valley. An old shed still stands at the edge of a farm field.

Trees and bushes grow in the coulees where a bit more precipitation collects during the spring and summer. When autumn arrives the leaves on the trees turn to yellow and gold.

U-turn on the Qu'Appelle 2

Another perspective on a bend in the Qu'Appelle River as it meanders along the floor of the Valley with the same name. This image was taken from the side of 7 Bridges Road, which is an accurate name because the river meanders a lot.

U-turn on the Qu'Appelle

I had hoped to show the entire bend in the Qu'Appelle River from this vantage point, but the barbed wire fence made that impossible. You can see in the sandy area in the foreground that many animals come there to drink. This image was taken near Lumsden, Saskatchewan.
